The Panamera is the long-awaited fruit of Porsche’s 989 concept vehicle from the late 80’s. The Panamera’s name is derived from the Carrera Panamericana race that was a sedan and sports car racing event on open roads in Mexico. From 1950 to 1954 it was widely held by contemporaries to be the most dangerous race of any type in the world.
